Warangal PM MITRA Park Begins Operations Under Textile Infrastructure Programme

India’s first operational PM MITRA Park has commenced operations in Warangal, Telangana, under the Government’s textile infrastructure development programme. The facility was inaugurated on May 10 and forms part of the Ministry of Textiles’ PM MITRA initiative which aims to expand textile manufacturing infrastructure across key production regions in India.

Developed at a project cost of Rs. 1,695.54 crore, the 1,327-acre facility has been designed to support textile manufacturing activities across spinning, weaving, processing, garmenting and exports within a consolidated production zone.

Located near the proposed Nagpur-Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway (NH-163G) and NH-163, the park includes:

  • Internal road infrastructure
  • Dedicated power substation
  • Assured water supply
  • Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP)
  • Zero Liquid Discharge
  • Worker dormitories
  • Common boiler facilities
  • Proposed 10 MW solar power plant

The Warangal facility is expected to attract investments exceeding Rs. 6000 crores. According to official information, around 62% of the park area has already been allotted to industries.

The park is expected to generate more than 24,400 jobs across textile manufacturing and associated activities. Industry infrastructure at the facility is also expected to support exporters through common processing utilities, improved transport connectivity and consolidated production infrastructure.

The Ministry of Textiles approved seven PM MITRA Parks in March 2023 across Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
